Description

Your Opportunity:

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is seeking a dedicated pharmacist to join our pharmacy team at Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital (GRH). GRH, located in Edmonton, is the largest standalone rehabilitation facility in Canada. We specialize in helping patients of all ages—who require complex rehabilitation to regain independence and improve their quality of life. In this role, you will work to your full scope of practice, supporting safe, efficient, and high‑quality patient care across all areas of drug distribution. You will assess patients for medication related issues, contribute to comprehensive medication management plans, and help optimize therapeutic outcomes. This hospital based position includes close collaboration with clinical teams, and engagement with patients and families to individualize therapy. Responsibilities include reviewing and verifying medication orders and may also involve checking prepared products such as oral, parenteral, and topical medications. You may assist with special access or investigational drug therapies and support pharmacy operations through mentorship of new staff, precepting students, and providing guidance to Pharmacy Assistants and Technicians. The successful candidate is experienced with computerized medication order entry and drug information systems, works well within diverse teams, and maintains patient confidentiality. Strong critical thinking, time management, and problem solving skills are essential, along with a compassionate, patient focused approach. Effective English communication and professional accountability are required. The role includes visual and computer work, with occasional lifting, pushing, or pulling. This position will work within the Start Psych clinic and in the dispensary at the GRH.
