POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Industry Engagement (responsible for Mitacs national Major/Strategic Accounts, sector strategies, and industry ecosystem engagement), as well as working closely with the national Ecosystem Partnerships and Government Relations teams, this position will be strategically placed to support all Mitacs programs, and with particular emphasis on the Mitacs Accelerate program.
The successful candidate should be a self-motivated field-oriented independent professional with solid business development and account management skills, business experience, and a strong research background. They will be confident and proficient in dealing with key stakeholders from government, industry, and academia, and will possess a commitment to putting in place a strategy for, and facilitating the development of, multi-disciplinary industry-academic collaborations with diverse partners.
By interacting with companies ranging from small- to medium-sized enterprises (SME) to Fortune 500 companies, the candidate will provide guidance to their research plans or make recommendations on contributions to research projects, with an aim to improving the company’s productivity, profitability, and growth through adoption of Mitacs programs. The candidate will also interact with academic researchers to understand their research interests, help connect them with companies seeking academic research expertise, and assist with the preparation of proposals seeking Mitacs support.

Hiring Range: $86,480 - $101,175

Only in rare and exceptional circumstances, where a candidate has the experience, skills, and expertise that far exceed those required for the position, would we consider paying above the hiring range for this role.
