The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the School of Epidemiology and Public Health (i.e. SEPH). The University of Ottawa is one of Canada’s leading research-intensive universities with over $340 million in annual research funding. The University is located on the unceded territory of the Anishinaabe-Algonquin people, at the heart of Ottawa’s health research and education campus. Together, with its affiliated research units, the Faculty of Medicine has consistently ranked among the top Faculties of Medicine in Canada for research impact and intensity.
In response to recent retirements and program expansion, SEPH is seeking to recruit four tenure-track professors at the rank of Assistant Professor. Across the positions we are seeking to augment capacity in the following priority areas:
SEPH is a vibrant interdisciplinary environment with research and teaching foci in multiple health-related fields. It is comprised of over 150 primary-, cross-, and adjunct-appointed faculty. SEPH confers MSc and PhD degrees in Epidemiology and Applied Health Research and Master of Public Health. It oversees the Public Health and Preventive Medicine Residency program and contributes to undergraduate medical education training.
Each successful candidate will be expected to conduct a rigorous program of independent, externally funded research and to contribute to teaching in SEPH.
Title of the positions: Assistant Professor. The higher ranks will be considered according to budgetary approval.

Wage: Salary scale for an Assistant Professor starts at $99,377 and the salary scale for an Associate Professor starts at $109,776 (as of May 1, 2025). Note: salary for higher ranks is commensurate according to rank and experience.
Benefits package: The University of Ottawa provides a complete benefits package, which includes long-term disability insurance, basic group life insurance, health insurance, University of Ottawa pension plan and optional life insurance, as well as reimbursement of eligible relocation expenses.
