The Opportunity
McElhanney Ltd. is seeking a Junior Civil Engineer to join our team in Prince George, BC. This role offers the chance to deliver innovative and integrated consulting services to both public and private sector clients. We highly value flexibility and ingenuity, enabling you to contribute to a range of projects from municipal water and wastewater improvements for First Nations and local communities to access and site development for mining and oil and gas clients. Additionally, this position encompasses a blend of office and field work, providing opportunities to support projects in various capacities.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, including geotechnical, environmental, geomatics, structural, electrical, and survey professionals, along with access to expertise and opportunities in other regional offices.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Provide design support for various infrastructure and development projects including municipal engineering, water and wastewater systems, resource access, and site development
- Assist in the preparation of approval, tender, and contract documents
- Complete field inspections to monitor the quality and progress of the work being performed
- Prepare and adhere to site-specific health and safety plans
- Opportunity to provide support to other departments (survey, geotechnical, and environmental engineering) to learn about and develop a holistic approach to project execution
- Work with other team members to ensure schedules, budgets, and quality control standards are achieved and maintained
What You’ll Bring
- At least 3+ years of relevant work experience but less would be considered for the right candidate
- Relevant University degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- Registration in good standing as a member in training or professional status in British Columbia, or immediately eligible to be registered
- Construction related experience an asset
What Can We Offer You?
The salary range for this position is $79,040 - $110,240 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting. The salary offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
