About this opportunity

Our CBI Chinook Health Centre is a Calgary-based clinic helping people with personal or family brain injury related issues. We’re community based. We focus on individual needs. We encompass family issues. We are holistic.

Join a high-performing team that focuses on improving and maintaining every aspect of life for individuals recovering from brain dysfunction.  Working with a multi-disciplinary team, you will provide consistent and ongoing communication between the Return to Work Services treatment team and key stakeholders, including the WCB and employers, by acting as the primary liaison between all involved parties, in order to facilitate a successful return to work outcome.

Take an inside look at what you’ll do each day

  • Meet with the client on orientation and introduces themselves as the coordinator in order that the client knows that they will be communicating with key stakeholders on behalf of the treatment team;
  • During the orientation, communicate the goals and expectations of the treatment program to the client
  • Introduce the client to the treatment team, in order that the orientation can continue with their designated therapists (Physio Ax, Kin schedule set up and goal setting)
  • Contact the Case Manager following the orientation to advise of the initiation of program and anticipated timeline; informs of being the primary point of contact
  • Participate in weekly file review with treatment team and document accordingly.
  • Contact Case Managers with updates during program (at least once per week or as frequent as deemed necessary), informing of retesting results, progress, any attendance issues, any potential barriers to RTW that have arisen
  • Assist in discharge and return to work planning
  • Call the Case Manager at the end of the program.
  • Participate in case conferences.
  • Review reporting/quality assurance
  • Train/mentor new Kinesiology staff
  • Follow the policies regarding electronic records, e-mail and internet use as described in Clinical Guidelines section of CBI Health P&P Manual.
  • Keep up to date with all the emergency plans and evacuation procedures for his/her clinic location and participates in regular practice drills;

What you need to be successful

  • A university degree
  • An ability to work as part of a team
  • An ability to communicate effectively both internally (with the treatment team) and externally (to Stakeholders);
  • An ability to develop a rapport with the patient and gain his/her active participation in CBI treatment and Rehabilitation Programs;
  • Strong organizational, time management and problem solving skills
